What we'll cover:

Confidence using strobes, not fearing them

Know how to set power, connect triggers, and build clean, professional light from a single strobe - then scale up to multi-light setups with purpose.

Consistent, repeatable lighting setups

A system for recreating the same look across shoots, clients, and locations so your work stays polished and on-brand every time.

An understanding of your gear (and what actually matters)

Clarity on cameras, lenses, modifiers, and backdrops and how each choice changes the final image, not just your kit list.

Faster, more efficient shoot workflows

Hands-on experience with tethering, Capture One, and on-set organisation so you can shoot, review, and adjust without chaos or second-guessing.

Stronger creative direction on set

Practical tools for posing, communicating, and guiding talent and clients with confidence so your sets run smoothly and professionally.

The ability to shape mood and style with light and colour

How to use gels, backdrop lighting, styling, and grooming to control the tone, warmth, and visual impact of every shot, not just the exposure.

Strobe lighting

How to build professional lighting setups starting with one strobe and and building up to 5-6 strobe with explanation - no guesswork.

Understanding your camera, strobes & modifiers

What different lenses and light modifiers actually do to your final image, and how to choose the right combo for commercial work.

Tethering with Capture One

How to use Capture One to shoot, review, and refine in real time - just like on a professional set.

The importance of colour theory

Using gels, backdrops, wardrobe, grooming, and composition to shape mood, brand tone, and visual impact.

On-set direction & professional workflow

How to confidently direct talent, manage your set, and run a smooth, efficient shoot from setup to wrap.
